Mehrangiz Kar
Mehrangiz Kar is a prominent lawyer, human rights activist, and author. She is a celebrated activist of women’s right in Iran, recipient of Ludovic Trarjeux Prize in recognition of her lifetime work, and honoured by Human Right First.
She has been a Radcliffe Fellow at Harvard University and served as a fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy, the Woodrow Wilson Center, the American University in Washington DC, the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Columbia University, and the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Mehrangiz has also been recognized as a Scholar at Risk through an international network of universities and colleges working to promote academic freedom and to defend the human rights of scholars worldwide.
Mehrangiz is the author of numerous articles (both Farsi and English) and more than twenty books, with her most recent book, Ice, Moonlight, Coffee Shop which is available on Amazon platform.
