Leila Rafi

Leila Rafi is a partner in the Capital Markets and M&A Group of McMillan LLP and has a highly transactional practice covering a wide range of industries, including investment funds and asset management. Ms. Rafi also has corporate commercial expertise as she co-led the modernization of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation between 2012 and 2016.
Currently, Ms. Rafi is an active member of the Securities Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission. Ms. Rafi is also a regular guest lecturer for the LLM program at Osgoode Hall Law School, and an adjunct professor for the advanced business law course offered by the University of Windsor law school and the January securities law course offered by Western Law. She is a prolific guest speaker for a variety of organizations including Canadian Investor Relations, TD Securities, the TSX, ILCO and for AIMA.
In 2019, Ms. Rafi was recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada 2020 and in 2018, Ms. Rafi was awarded the Rising Star Lexpert Award (Top 40 under 40).
Ms. Rafi received her B.A. (Hons.) (Political Science) from the University of British Columbia in 2001 and her LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 2005. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006.
Leila currently lives in downtown Toronto.
